5 Ways Your Faith Helps You Handle Covid-19

It’s been over a century since the United States last experienced a pandemic, which means this is a completely new reality to most people alive today. Perhaps it’s something you never imagined would happen in your own lifetime. Certainly, things have been different, and as a result, some people are trying to cope with Covid-19 stress and anxiety. Change is never easy to handle; but, as a Christian, God has given you the tools and the faith you need to get through these challenging times. Here are some tips to help you remain calm and strong through your faith.

    covid-19

    How To Handle Covid-19?

    1. Challenge Is Part of Life

Everyone faces difficult challenges at one time or another. Nobody gets through life without them, and Covid-19 is just one of the many challenges you have faced or will face in your lifetime. You will never face this challenge or your future challenges alone. The Way International reminds Christians that the “remedy in times of uncertainty is our utmost trust and reliance on God, Who is all-knowing and all-powerful.” God should be receiving your trust right now so that He may guide you.

    2. You Are Not Alone

It’s easy to worry about only yourself during times of trouble, but remember you are not alone. However bad you are feeling right now, there are others out there who feel worse but don’t have the strength and faith you possess to carry them through. It is vital to remember our neighbors in times of need, and as a Christian who has been taught the importance of helping others, the time to act is now. People are coming up with creative solutions to some of the problems being faced right now. There are shortages on vital supplies, and groups of people are stepping up to fill those needs.

Contact a group at your church in which you are a member and ask about ways you can help, or suggest an idea you have and invite people to join you. If you have children, get them involved. Few things bring more joy than knowing you can make a difference. If you’re not sure how you can make a difference, remember, everyone has at least one God-given skill. What is yours?

    3. Make Prayer a Habit

It’s too bad many people only pray when times appear to be darkest. The late Billy Graham once said, “This should be the motto of every follower of Jesus Christ. No matter how dark and hopeless a situation might seem, never stop praying.” If the coronavirus has caused you to pray more often than you usually would, don’t stop when it’s over. Praying is an act that brings people closest to God. Praying before, during and after a hardship keeps you prepared for life’s toughest journeys because it keeps you in touch with Him.

    praying

    4. Share His Word

There are always lost sheep who are eager to hear His word. The best way to share His word is through compassion. If someone is struggling, lend them an ear, and after you’ve respectfully listened to everything they have to say, let that person know how God is helping you get through this difficult time. If you don’t know what to say, that’s okay. Open yourself up and let God use you, just as he did Paul. Paul was rough around the edges, yet he brought faith to many.

An important part of sharing His word is believing it yourself. If you don’t act the way people have been taught Christians should act, why would anyone believe they should listen to you? It’s never too late to start walking the talk.

    5. Remain Connected

Even though everyone is practicing social distancing, that does not mean it’s time to cut yourself off from your family and your church. If your church is televising services, tune in. If they aren’t, many are. Find one that works best for you. Christians bring strength in their numbers, and you are a part of that number. Your church needs you just as you need them.

Even if you can’t see them in person, check on your friends and family regularly. Chances are they’re struggling, too. Human contact is comforting during Covid-19, even if it’s only by phone or email.

  • 12 Ways To Stop Stressing And Start Enjoying The Holidays

12 Ways To Stop Stressing And Start Enjoying The Holidays

We are officially in the middle of a 2019 holiday season. 2020 is knocking at our doors silently but persistently. Parties, gift shopping, dinner planning and other holiday activities can be overwhelming and often lead to burnout. If you want to relax more and stress less, read our strategies for coping with holiday stress.

    Holiday Stress

    Plan your holiday schedule

The fact that the holiday season started doesn’t change all your day-to-day obligations and responsibilities. Furthermore, it means that you have more on your plate than you can handle. Party planning, gift shopping, searching for the right holiday outfit go on top of work, workouts, home, family, hobbies and responsibilities.

The only way to stress less and juggle everything is to plan it all ahead. By organizing your time you set yourself realistic goals. Plan each activity in advance according to your existing schedule. Aim to do at least one activity a day. Those things that have to be done as soon as possible like gift shopping can be done during the week. Weekends are for grocery shopping and other things that can wait a bit.

By doing this, you’ll avoid the last-minute holiday drama and achieve everything you plan.

Be realistic about what you can and can’t do

Committing to every possible party invitation and accepting more work than you can handle will surely stretch you thin. Overcommitting and saying “yes” to everything spanning from professional relationships to friends and family isn’t something you can achieve without stress. To avoid this – be realistic about what you can and can’t do.

Saying No is empowering and it’s time to practice saying it. Commit to those things that align with your values, and politely decline those that don’t. For example, if your company is already hosting a Christmas party, you don’t have to say yes to individual parties planned by the colleagues. You will celebrate it as a team at an official party.

You can easily say no to other parties and spend that time with your family instead. Decide to cherish the time you have. Aim to spend it on things that matter to you. Remember that slowing down is good for your soul and a healthy holiday spirit.

    Enjoy the power of giving

    giving

Instead of saying how you must go through the tiring process of gift selection, change your point of view. If this is a burden, the process won’t be enjoyable. Firstly, if you wish to reduce the stress around gift shopping, don’t do it a few days before the main event.

Plan your time so you have enough space to select your gifts. Allow room for sudden changes like gifts going out of stock. Create a gift list A and gift list B. Gift list A lists the gifts you really wish to buy. The B list offers alternative choices in case some gifts are already sold out. This will save you time while reducing frustration and related stress.

Secondly, don’t view gift shopping as an obligation, add fun into the mix. This is the time to invest in your emotional bank account. The return on investment is immediate because you’re putting others’ needs above your own. According to a study, giving to others increases both the health of the recipient and the giver. Instead of it being stressful, it can increase your health if you view it properly. Remember that the thought is what matters the most and not the value of the gift.

    Find time for health essentials

The holiday season is a true test of your willpower and strength to say no to overindulgence. Going from one party to the other can easily put our healthy habits somewhere low on the list of our priorities. Even though it is okay to let go once in a while, you should also track your steps so you won’t slide off track and increase the size of your wardrobe.

    Sleep is still important

Sleep is essential to our health and it helps reduce stress. People will sacrifice sleep when they have less time to achieve a rising number of tasks. But, sleep deprivation is not the solution. No matter how busy we get, we need to follow our regular sleep routine.

Even when we snooze our alarm in the morning to get 10 more minutes of sleep is better than getting no sleep. Sometimes the amount of stress can be the reason why we are sleep deprived. This is due to the levels of cortisol and the body’s inability to reduce them and enter the state of calm. The best advice is to reduce tech time one hour before going to sleep.

The herbal tea can soothe our senses and relax our body before hitting the sack. Aromatherapy and hot baths are also beneficial and help us relax. Use the time before going to bed to wind down so you’ll benefit more from rejuvenating sleep.

    Mind what you eat

Holidays are one of the most depressing times of the year because people gain weight easily. People just overindulge and regret it later. The parade of holiday parties is to blame for sure. However, it is up to us to set our own pace when it comes to food. If we know how to strike a proper balance, we won’t regret it later.

The helpful strategy here is to set your daily limits when it comes to the amount of food and sweets. Set your limits to one breakfast, lunch and a moderate dinner for starters. Eat no more than one slice of cake and have one alcoholic beverage a day. If you have two parties lined up in one day, create a game plan. For example, eat half of your usual plate at one party and eat the other half at the second party.

The goal here is to limit your portion size so you won’t stuff yourself. Eat only one dessert a day so politely decline any deserts if you’ve already had your share. The holiday season shouldn’t be about eating all the time. It is about creating new memories so treat it like that. Feel your heart with love, not your stomach with food.

    …and also what you drink

    drinking

Where there is food, there are also many drinks. These are packed with empty calories and can also be the reason why you’ve gained weight. If possible, limit your drinks to one drink per party. Pay attention to your water intake throughout the day. Even during the holidays aim to drink at least two liters of water a day. Also, drink at least one cup of water between drinks at parties. This way you’ll stay hydrated and drink less.

    Don’t skip your workouts

Intentional physical activity can be your getaway from all holiday-related drama and stress.  When you plan your days around professional and holiday-related activities, make sure to leave enough time for your regular workouts. Your workouts are not something you should cancel during these busy times. Moreover, you should use it as a means to burn all those excess calories you simply can’t avoid.

Make sure you have time for at least 150 minutes of moderate workouts. If you don’t have time to go to your regular fitness session, amp up activity throughout your day. Whenever you can, ride a bike instead of driving. Even a 20-minute ride on your electric bike around the block can put you in a calm mental state.

Also, pledge to avoid elevators at all costs and use the stairs. This is non-negotiable even in cases when you have to reach the tenth floor. Your body will be thankful once the holiday season passes and you’re able to fit into your favorite pair of jeans.

Carve out some time for yourself

This can be easier said than done when your family is flying in from all over the world. But, when you are under a lot of pressure, even a minor misunderstanding can blow your head off. When you feel that the pressure is too much to handle, it is time to let go and kick your feet up. To feel less under pressure, block out 30 minutes to an hour each day for self-care.

You can take your stress outside and go for a walk. This light physical activity will be good for your mental health and physical fitness. You can use this time to self-reflect and clear your mind. Also, you will soak up some vitamin D and improve your mood instantly.

If you need a longer time out, schedule a massage or a facial. The NYE celebration is coming so you should look and feel your best. A massage can ease the tension, relax you, soothe any pain and eliminate stress. A facial can give you a glowing complexion, increase your mood, boost your self-confidence and also clear your mind. Being a bit selfish is okay even during the gift-giving season.

Things don’t always go as planned

If things don’t go as you plan, it’s not the end of the world. Perfection is an illusion and it’s not the reason to stress over it. So what if your cater forgot to include a cake in your delivery? It is surely not a reason to have a mental breakdown. You can mix up a sweet treat even with a few ingredients you have in your cabinet.

Caterers make mistakes, people cancel on you or don’t show up to your party. You’ll forget to buy certain festive essentials like new string lights or enough wine for Christmas dinner. Since unexpected things are bound to happen, you should learn how to deal with them. You can’t control everything, but you can control your reaction. Decide to go with the flow and respond to each situation with “So what?”. So what if there is only one bottle of red wine instead of two? Or – so what if your friend decided to go away for the holidays and informed you at the last minute?

Also, ask for help. You don’t have to organize everything on your own because your family can help. Let your mom make the cake. It will take you back to your childhood when you smell her signature cake. Kids can be in charge of decoration and seating arrangements. Delegate whatever you can and you’ll be happier. Embrace the positive aspect of each moment and go with the flow. You will decrease the pressure of being perfect and thus reduce stress.

Plan some fun stress boosting activities

Holidays are not only about giving and receiving gifts. They are also about reconnecting, coming together and having fun. The best way to reduce holiday-related stress is to laugh it all out. Sit down with your loved ones and reminisce about the past. Think of the funny things you and your siblings did when you were growing up. Go down the memory lane and have fun by reliving those moments.

Prepare a list of movies that will cheer everyone up. Comedies are always more fun when watched in a group. People will make jokes and laugh out loud. It will spread positivity around your home and bring in the holiday spirit.

Play a game of charades with your family. Play in teams – grandparents against children, or parents against their children. Whoever loses has to wash the dishes after dinner or take out the trash for the day.

You can also dance the night away. Create a killer evergreen playlist both your kids and parents can dance to. Your kids will laugh to their grandparents’ dancing moves.

The main goal is to have fun and enjoy the moments together.

Start your New Year’s resolutions early

Thinking about your New Year’s resolution can be stress-relieving. You can think about these resolutions during your daily hour of self-care. Focus on resolutions that are attainable like learning a new language or how to sew. Make at least one decision that will improve your health like eating something sweet only once a week or exercising 4 times instead of your regular three times.

Whatever you write down, think of an action plan too. Write down a timeline for each of these resolutions. By doing this you will have a clear and concise plan and with a bit of effort and devotion, they will become part of your lifestyle.

Burning out instead of relaxing during the holiday season can be avoided if we make the right decisions. Most importantly, as much as we have to focus on others, we should also focus on our wellbeing. So, when things become stressful, read our tips and adapt your own strategies for coping with stress accordingly.

  • Black Friday Frenzy – Scoring On The Latest Home Improvement Deals Like A Pro

Black Friday Frenzy – Scoring On The Latest Home Improvement Deals Like A Pro

Better get ready…………. the 2019 Black Friday is ready to take the world by storm, and the special offers keep getting better with every new year.

Everyone expects the discounts to be massive these days, especially as the competition between manufacturers has never been more intense. Besides, while it might be a bit confusing, I love how Black Friday is no longer just a Friday, but often comes with a full week or even a month of discounts.

    Black Friday Deals

Now, when you think Black Friday, you think electronics. It is just part of the game. I guess this is the most advanced sector and it keeps expanding like there is no tomorrow. Whatever you get today, chances are there will be a better model next year. This rule applies to pretty much every segment, yet there are a few exceptions. Home tools tend to make a great investment because quality stuff will never get outdated.

Now when thinking about home improvement or tools, whether it’s Home Depot or some other stores, most stores in this category will most likely run a plethora of offers too. I remember the first time I decided to join this Black Friday mania – it was 2009. I got a set of screwdrivers with different tips – the proper professional kind of set with 50 pieces in a suitcase – and it still feels brand new. It is still one of the top-rated sets in the market. That’s why I love this segment – it is all about value for money and making a long-term investment.

Do not get me wrong, though! Home Depot coupons and discounts are mostly suitable for certain categories of people.

First, you got the professionalscontractors and people who actually make a living in this industry. They obviously require the latest technologies in order to provide top-notch service for home renovation or remodeling. They need durability, as well as the top brands in this segment. Luckily, most of these things come out on Black Friday first.

    Home tools

Second, you have my category – the DIY enthusiasts. We all love doing things around our house, and while we may lack extensive knowledge and experience, we can still pull some nice tricks every now and then. I firmly believe everyone should be able to fix a table, a chair, or a sofa. I take my ventures even further and even come up with my own designs. I hire contractors only when something could be life-threatening – other than that, I do everything myself.

This year, Black Friday falls on the 29th of November. I am pretty sure many large stores will start their discounts a week before or so. Some of them will probably keep their coupon codes or sale discounts for a week after too. Some shops go for a full month in order to get as many customers as possible. I recommend keeping an eye on whatever your favorite store has in mind. When it comes to big stores, they will most likely explode on the actual Black Friday.

    Black Friday Home Improvement Deals

Now, what should we expect from Home Depot and other similar home improvement stores for 2019?

What to expect for Black Friday

It is hard to tell what products or categories of products will benefit from a major discount on Home Depot’s Black Friday Deals event.

However, if you are like me and keep an eye on home improvement stores around this time of the year, you have probably noticed a few trends that keep repeating. And let me put it out clearly – there is nothing wrong with that. Home Depot keeps things simple by focusing on things people actually want or need, rather than new innovations to test the market.

Christmas decorations will most likely make a difference this year, as well. We will probably find everything – from Christmas trees in all kinds of sizes and designs to small or large decorations for the tree or your household. It was one of the first home improvement ideas applied by the top store on Black Friday, and it comes just in time – less than a month before Christmas. Sure, some of us have already purchased a few bits, but the main sale will most likely go on Black Friday.

    Christmas decorations

The last few years have also revealed another trend. Camping has always been a popular activity for youngsters or nature enthusiasts, not to mention families. It keeps getting more and more popular with plenty of new places all over the world. Do not get me wrong – it is not just camping, but all about outdoor activities. I bought a nice portable grill for my family’s camping trips last year, and I keep my fingers crossed for a few similar things this year too. Some of the outdoor furniture on sale last year was stunning, but our garden is fully decorated.

Now, stores like Home Depot will clearly focus on the working industry too. There will probably be hundreds of dollars of power tools, toolsets, and all kinds of similar appliances. These are probably the main reasons wherefore so many people head to such stores on Black Friday – they build or add to their portfolios. I will be honest with you – even though I am well stocked on power tools these days, I always keep an eye on these sale discounts, as you never know what might pop up for a good price.

Then, while this is not new, it tends to get better around Black Friday – financing deals. They were common and quite successful over the past few years – I guess Home Depot would not do them otherwise. Basically, you get better financing deals, no interest deals, and so on – even multiple discounts on multiple purchases. The sale applies to more expensive things – not just a power tool, but perhaps a dryer or a washing machine.

I got a kitchen set a few years ago – no interest added. It got paid within a couple of years – fixed rates, no random variables, no extra charges.

However, while all these seem exciting, there is nothing official yet. I guess we will have to wait until Black Friday begins and keep an eye on official websites.

Whether you shop online or offline, Black Friday is all about preparation. You are more likely to be successful on this shopping day if you know exactly what you need. But then, if you are like me, you will always get some extras too.

    Outdoor equipments

Anyway, how do you get ready for Black Friday?

What are my best tips gathered over a decade of Black Friday hunting?!

    Sign up and get ready

In 2019, people shop online. Of course, the grocery shop down the road is still handy at times, but many big things are ordered online.

The same rule applies to Black Friday. You might see videos of people fighting in shops for the last power tool on sale or a kitchen set, but going online is more convenient and easier. You can shop in multiple stores within minutes, rather than wasting hours in traffic or queues.

Now, when I mean you need to sign up, I mean to save time. The traffic on these home improvement websites is massive during Black Friday. It starts soon after midnight. This means websites will get slow – you will have to hit the refresh button every few minutes.

    Why waste time then?

Sign up today when there is no rush. Create an account. Enter your shipping details. Save your payment information. This way, you will save valuable minutes on each purchase.

    Research prices upfront

Mark my words – you need to be familiar with the prices. Well, you should be… Whether you are a pro or a DIY enthusiast, you might be familiar with average prices for tools and home improvement stuff.

If you are just starting up, mark my advice – come up with a list of tools you might need. Explore Home Depot or other similar websites if you are not sure. Become familiar with the prices.

Some stores increase prices a month or two before Black Friday, only to be able to provide some discounts. This trick is more common in small stores that cannot afford to offer big sale discounts.

    gifts for decor

Luckily, large places stay away from such lame techniques. All in all, knowing prices will help you determine whether the discount is worth it.

    Research top products too

It is hard to tell now, exactly, what will go on sale on Black Friday. But if you are involved with home improvement tools for a while, you might know what products run the market.

My point is quite simple – research what you need upfront.

You will find lots of bargains for products that you do not really need – you will simply have no use for them. Trust me, I have been there, and I have done that – bought items just because the deals looked amazing. They were so cheap that I would have been happy if they lasted for a week.

And I still have them… And I still use them once a year… They are just not suitable for the kind of things I do.

If you need a nail gun, do your homework and find the best ones in the market, then try to find one of those. Looking for a particular refrigerator? How about an air compressor? You do not necessarily need to know the best products, but at least learn about the top manufacturers out there.

    Save even more money

Some retailers will let you buy a product online, and then they will keep it in store for you for a particular amount of time – two days, seven days, whatever…

Shopping online is convenient, but it could be pricey too. There are not too many offers on shipping during Black Friday, so chances are you will pay for shipping. Order a large package, and the shipping cost can be quite harsh.

You can still benefit from the discount if your retailer keeps it in store for you. Whether you go for Home Depot or a smaller store, double-check upfront. This way, you can pop up a couple of days later, when the crazy crowds are gone. You are welcome!

    Home improvement deals

    Final words

Tempted to take your DIY experience to the next level and become the handyman around your household?

Interested in pushing your business even further with some top-notch tools?

Black Friday could be the solution for you. Keep in mind, the bigger the store, the more money it can cut via its coupon codes.

Places like Home Depot could be your primary solutions.

Use my advice to get ahead of others and gain an advantage over the crazy crowds. Whether you get there in person or you plan to tackle Black Friday from your armchair, you have to be prepared.

  • iPad Monitoring: Secret To Handling Defiant Kids

iPad Monitoring: Secret To Handling Defiant Kids

    iPad Monitoring

Over the past four-five years, many people use an Android/ iPad monitoring app to connect to the internet via iPhones and Android devices. Some of the most commonly used applications used by kids these days include Facebook messenger, Snapchat, WhatsApp, Skype, LINE, and Kik. In fact, they also use social media sites like Tinder and Instagram, which have proven harmful for some naive teenagers in the recent years. The main problem with using such platforms is that teenagers and young adults hardly protect their personal information, which makes them an easy target for the harmful predators online. Talking to defiant kids is not always helpful, which is why using technology that allows you to access their mobile activities is the way to go. Here’s how you can handle a defiant teenager easily and stay in control of the situation.

How You Can Handle Defiant Kids with an Android/ iPad Monitoring App

The best feature in an iPad monitoring app is that you can view more than just music and videos that any target person sees. For the sake of an example of such an app, Xnspy is quite renowned amongst parents. You can also use such apps to access their emails, chats via some social media apps and Internet messengers. You can access the target’s call logs and text messages or iMessages too.

    • Maintain Stealth with the Android or iPad Monitoring Software

    parental control

When you spy on your kids, you want to maintain stealth because you do not want them to know that you are watching. For this reason, you cannot pick up their mobile devices at any time to check their mobile activities. Even if you choose to use these apps to monitor employees, you can keep track of their mobile activities to make sure they keep confidential data safe from leaking.

    • Track Shared Data via Email/SMS/IM Chats

    email monitoring app

One of the biggest concerns parents have is their exposure to inappropriate content. This can influence the minds of teenagers greatly. A monitoring app can help you track multimedia shared and received, giving you the opportunity to protect and guide your children. If you notice any data that can compromise the safety of your child then you can lock the phone until you handle it, block unwanted contacts either remotely, or in extreme cases wipe off the data.

    • Locate Teenager Anytime

If you are dealing with a kid who has the habit of disappearing on you and not picking calls, this app can make sure you know where he or she is at any time. With the inbuilt GPS tracker in the iPad monitoring app and geofencing tool, you can know where they are and even receive alerts if they enter or leave defined areas.

    • Monitor Browser Activity

    monitor browser activity

You can use the app to check what websites the teenager has been visiting. Porn addiction in teenagers is something very common these days and detrimental to innocent minds too. Parents who notice disturbing behavioral changes can use these apps to check what their kids have been doing.

    • Block Unwanted Installed Apps

Assuming that the use of WhatsApp and sites like Tinder have proven very harmful for children, parents can take drastic measures like blocking them so that the teenagers do not use them. This means that parents who use a monitoring app can have more control over their kid’s device. Besides, your teenager doesn’t need to know anything nor would they suspect anything while Xnspy works in the background.

    monitor installed apps

As you may already know, children are easy targets and prone to encounter all kinds of dangers in the cyber world. Parents have to worry about them and look out for their kids while they use their devices for various mobile activities. Defiant children are often more difficult to handle, but with the use of mobile monitoring apps, parents can manage things better.
