Welcome to the 2015 Thanksgiving Event! This event is hosted by Dixieland Reviews and Co-hosted by: Imperfect Women, Finger Click Saver, Joyful Gifts by Julie, Mom n’ Daughter Savings and Mom to Grandma.

This event is sponsored by We Love Travel Deals and partially sponsored by fees collected from the participating bloggers for this event! There will be a total of 10 winners for Thanksgiving Day 2015 event!

Prizes for Thanksgiving Day 2015 event are:

7 (Seven) Lucky people will win a prize package that contains:

1- $100 Gift Card to a grocery store in your area (if winners area does not have a store that offers gift cards, we will send a Visa gift card in it’s place), in order to purchase what they need for their family Thanksgiving meal, + a $100 Visa gift card to kick off their Holiday shopping! Total value of each prize package is $200.00

1 (One) Lucky winner will win a prize package that contains:

1- $200 gift card to a grocery store in their area, (if winners area does not have a store that offers gift cards, we will send a Visa gift card in it’s place), in order to purchase what they need for their family Thanksgiving meal, + a $200 Visa gift card to kick off their Holiday shopping! 1 (One) Lucky winner will win a prize package that contains:

Total value of prize package is $500.00.

1 (One) Lucky winner will win a prize package that contains:

1- $200 gift card to a grocery store in their area, (if winners area does not have a store that offers gift cards, we will send a Visa gift card in it’s place), in order to purchase what they need for their family Thanksgiving meal, + a $500 Visa gift card to kick off their Holiday shopping! Total value of prize package is $700.00.

Total value of all 10 prize packages, combined, is: $3000.00. There is only one mandatory entry on the Giveaway Tool, all other entries are optional, however, for every additional task you do, it gives you more chances to win! All prize packages will be delivered via Fed Ex next day to ensure plenty of time to shop for your groceries for your Thanksgiving dinner and to do any Black Friday Shopping you might want to do.

Terms & Conditions:

Must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of the U.S. or Canada. Void where prohibited by law. There will be one mandatory entry that must be completed, all other entry tasks are optional, but do give you more entries into the contest. Event begins at 1:00 pm eastern standard time, on November 2nd, 2015 and ends on November 15th at 11:59 pm eastern standard time. Winner will be chosen by combining all entries and choosing the winner via random.org to ensure a fair drawing, and will be announced on our winners page.

    Going on my first date with my hubby. I couldn’t date until I turned 16. My hubby asked me out and we went on our first date exactly one week after my 16th birthday which happened to be Thanksgiving. We went to the movies. Thank you!!

    I loved the rituals of preparation, the smells, the feel, and the look of the food. I would help my mom cook, and the day before I’d cut up the bread and let it sit to dry out. Then early the next morning, I’d cut up the onions and celery to saute until they were a beautiful golden brown, and I’d mix the two together along with the bread and some egg and the Bell’s seasoning in a huge bowl, up to my elbows in melted butter, then stuffing the turkey and trussing it up with bakery string and poultry pins. Then, when the turkey was in the oven and filling the house with wonderful smells, I’d peel the potatoes and veggies to cook, and then help clear off the dining room table to set. I’d get out all the nice tablecloth, dishes, silverware and glasses, and would devise fancy ways to fold the napkins to make the table look festive.

    Favorite thanksgiving memory was picnicing outside with lots of family and friends. In Canada Thanksgiving is in October, so it’s lots warmer. 🙂

    When I had a house full of unexpected relatives drop in just in time for dinner…it was wonderful…my family loved it and everyone joined in…I believe there were 3 people on gravy duty….everyone has the best gravy as we all know….

    My fav Thanksgiving memory was the year my Dad swore after Thanksgiving dinner that he hadn’t gotten any green bean casserole and my brother-in-law used photoshop to put some green bean cassrole on his plate in a picture. We always laugh about that every year.

    When I was little I remember watching my dad clean and stuff the turkey. I had no idea what he was doing, but it seemed so funny to me, watching him wrestle around with this big, slippery animal. My dad still teases me about the expression that I had while I was watching him. 🙂

    My favorite Thanksgiving memory is when my family and I went to Europe for Thanksgiving holiday. It was a fun time visiting there, and its a place I always wanted to return for a visit. It is such a different place than North America, and also I keep in touch with some friends from that part of the world.

    While my grandmother made every holiday magical and memorable, I’d have to say my favorite is when I was 11 or 12 years old. My family all lived very close until Katrina hit New Orleans and we relocated to Texas. It was the first holiday with my grandparents, my aunt, cousin, and my family together since we moved. We had so much food! Turkey, green bean casserole, multiple pies, sweet potato and marshmallow casserole. It was so delicious and it was so nice having everyone together. I’ll always remember that thanksgiving..

    Also, I just want to say this is one of the best giveaways I’ve ever seen. It’ll really help some families out! So generous.

    As a child, my cousins would come to visit (they only came at Thanksgiving because they lived several states away) and before lunch we always played scrabble at my great aunt/uncles house, after a late Thanksgiving meal our moms would always take us to see a movie. We used to have such a good time together!

    When we had traditional Thanksgiving fare, that was special because the classic turkey was not the usual dish so when it was, that felt like a special occasion instead of a variety of other dishes that were not fitting for the occasion.

    My favorite Thanksgiving Day memory is the last Thanksgiving dinner I prepared where the whole family including my Mom & Dad were there. It was also the last dinner I had with both of them present as my Dad died less than 2 weeks later. It is a great memory, fun and lots of laughter.

    I’m not sure, but I remember one year that we took the time to write down things we were thankful for and that was a good activity because we were struggling financially at the time. We have invited over people who didn’t have a place for Thanksgiving a few times as well.

    Every year starting on Thanksgiving day my kids and I would start a huge puzzle together and we would work on it everyday from then until Christmas Eve. The last piece would go in Christmas Eve and that would allow us time to spend together bonding and talking about our day not just for the holidays but everyday in between.

    My sister’s birthday occasionally falls on Thanksgiving. A birthday tradition we have is that the birthday person picks the meal. My most entertaining memories are of having pizza right alongside our turkey!
